History
We first launched joobs.ro in july 2007. Then the Internetics award came: Microsoft Special Prize for Inovation. Then, by the end of 2007 the most popular blogger in Romania, Cristian Manafu asked us if we can deliver a job solution for his own portal. Since joobs.ro was developed with asp.net, we thought to deliver a smaller, basic version in php. So, we started developing it.
The launch of this solution was postponed so now we had a php job board application ready for the users, and so we thought why not releasing to the public and making it open source.
This is where Valentin Bora came up, when we announced we are looking for a Master that can take the already built solution further away. He rebuilt the solution on a Zend Framework, knowing that we will need scalability for the future. And he did a great job.
Since we knew there’s already an open source job board solution out there, we thought about the things that can really help making joobsbox stand out. So, the main things are the plugins and themes (we will talk about them separately). These will be created by us, but mainly by you. From PayPal to Twitter and Aggregator plugins; from simple themes to complex ones.
Then, we thought why not releasing an open source product in two different languages: php and asp.net. Both in development, we will launch first the php version.
So, here it is, not yet officially launched, the most flexible open source jobboard.
